Draper James in My Father’s World

Dress: Draper James (available at East Lansing Threads), Shoes: BCBG (similar), Necklace: Kendra Scott, Flowers: Spring Sweet

This is my Father’s world, and to my listening ears, all nature sings and round me rings the music of the spheres ;This is my Father’s world I rest me in the thought, of rocks and trees of skies and seas His hand the wonders wrought; This is my Father’s world, oh the battle is not done.

My Father’s World by Jadon Lavik

I love the above song, the message that it brings and the beauty of this earth that it is able to portray in so few words. The end of the song says that the battle is not done. It’s a perfect message for me as I move forward in my journey that I recently shared with you all. Certainly I am on the uphill climb but I do still have days that bring me to my knees. Sometimes I just feel like I can’t catch a break! I think everyone feels like that sometimes. This past month has been filled with monumental change for my family. I’ll share that news soon enough but for now just know that God is good… always! We live in such a pretty world that belongs to God, our Father in Heaven. We experience the wonders of each day thanks to him. He didn’t promise that we would live a life without struggles. The battle isn’t done but I’m willing to keep fighting and I know he will be with me every step of the way.

I love these pictures because they expose a sense of peace that’s hard to explain. Sometimes it’s nice to just stop and take in your surroundings. Ya know.. “stop and smell the roses”! I picked up the flowers I am holding from a little store called “Spring Sweet” located right downtown Holland, Michigan. It’s the cutest store and they have a little flower cooler in the back where you can make your own bouquets. As it turns out, I am a terrible florist. Thankfully, my friends have more talent than I do and they stepped in to assist. We later adventured to this little spot which we discovered in Douglas, Michigan, a tiny little town near Saugatuck and South Haven.

The dress I am wearing is from the Draper James collection and I bought it from East Lansing Threads. The back is to die for! Who doesn’t love a big bow?! I love that you can wear this dress in so many ways depending on what shoes and accessories you pair with it.

I hope everyone is having a great week. Remember to stop and smell the flowers! Whatever you’re walking through, good or bad, I promise God is there every step of the way. Enjoy this beautiful world that he created for us!

Xoxo, Anna
