Last week I popped my head into Forever 21 with the intention to simply peak around and then leave. That’s always a good thought however, I should know myself better than that by now! I am without a doubt one of those gullible consumers the market seeks to reach. I see the words SALE and I rush the racks! So much for simply peaking in and then leaving! I ended up purchasing a few fun finds, all of which I managed to get on sale! One of my favorite purchases was the dress featured above. This maxi stood out to me for a few reasons. To start, the price was fantastic! I only paid $16 for a dress that I’m certain will get a lot of wear. I also love the bright summery colors and the fun details on the neck and back. Lastly, I love the way that it hangs off of the body. Most maxi’s I own are fitted, so I thought this might be a fun way to change it up!

A friend and I ventured to The Felt Mansion Estate to show off the new dress and do some exploring. The Felt Mansion is a beautiful old house with a rich history located on Lake Michigan in the dunes between Holland and Saugatuck. It was built by Dorr Felt, inventor of the first office processing machine, the Comptometer, as a summer home for his wife Agnes. The home was completed in 1928 and sadly, Agnes passed away in the master bedroom six weeks after they moved in. The mansion has since been used for many different things and is now in the process of The Restoration Project in hopes to return the home back to it’s 1920’s grandeur! Upon exploring, we came across the most breath taking water garden. The pictures don’t quite do it justice, but take my word for it, it was beautiful! Sneak peaks of the mansion can be seen in many of the pictures above, but stay tuned, because I look forward to featuring more of the beauty that lies at The Felt Mansion Estate in blog posts to come!

Xoxo, Anna
