I was driving today and for whatever reason, I started to think about all of the pictures that I still needed to sort through from my trip to Arizona. We took so many that the sheer thought of sorting through them all is overwhelming haha! Anyways, as I was cruising down the road, one of my favorite throwback Christian songs came on the radio. I heard it a few years ago and instantly fell in love with the message. As a matter of fact, I like the message so much, I’m 90% confident I’ve mentioned it in a past post. Anyways, as I listened to the song on the radio, it was like a ‘ding ding ding’ message started going off in my head! Why? I honestly think it’s because of this: As I prep all of these blog pictures, I am prepping a lot of bathing suit pictures in particular. In a world so acutely focused and inundated with images, I worry that sharing all of these posed pictures in beautiful settings might cause a sense of false reality, especially for my young followers out there. Real life isn’t always this beautiful, especially first thing in the morning when I wake up to a messy apartment, with my retainers in and my hair in a messy disaster! I always worry about this because this blog is a whole lot of posed Anna. In fact, when I tell people about my blog, I preface with this, “be warned, it’s a whole lot of me!” This is a hard topic for me to write about because I just don’t have the words! I have the thoughts but putting them into words is a completely different story. I try to type them and they escape my head just as quickly as they come in. So, instead of trying to deliver the perfect message, I think I will just shed light on the big idea here. As this song played in my car today, it was my reminder, my ‘ding ding ding’ moment, to share that there could never be a more beautiful you. God made each of us, unique and with intention! “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart” Jeremiah 1:5. How cool is that?! God gave so much to create us, it’s something we need to treasure and celebrate. Don’t fall into the trap of comparison because that simply doesn’t honor our God. He made each of us the way we are so that we can fill a purpose that only we can do. And if my words aren’t doing it for you, perhaps Jonny Diaz’s will! They actually bring me to tears when I think about the little people in my life. As an aunt and a role model to sweet family friends, I love being able to share this verse:

“There could never be a more beautiful you”

And for those that want to read through the words:

Jonny Diaz- More Beautiful You

Little girl fourteen flipping through a magazine
Says she wants to look that way
But her hair isn’t straight, her body isn’t fake
And she’s always felt overweight

Well, little girl fourteen I wish that you could see
That beauty is within your heart
And you were made with such care, your skin, your body and your hair
Are perfect just the way they are

There could never be a more beautiful you
Don’t buy the lies, disguises and hoops, they make you jump through
You were made to fill a purpose that only you could do
So there could never be a more beautiful you

Little girl twenty one the things that you’ve already done
Anything to get ahead
And you say you’ve got a man but He’s got another plan
Only wants what you will do instead

Well, little girl twenty one you never thought that this would come
You starve yourself to play the part
But I can promise you there’s a man whose love is true
And He’ll treat you like the jewel you are

There could never be a more beautiful you
Don’t buy the lies, disguises and hoops, they make you jump through
You were made to fill a purpose that only you could do
So there could never be a more beautiful you, more beautiful you

So turn around you’re not too far
To back away be who you are
To change your path go another way
It’s not too late, you can be saved
If you feel depressed with past regrets
The shameful nights hope to forget
Can disappear, they can all be washed away

By the one who’s strong, can right your wrongs
Can rid your fears dry, all your tears
And change the way you look at this big world
He will take your dark distorted view
And with His light, He will show you truth
And again you’ll see through the eyes of a little girl

That there could never be a more beautiful you
Don’t buy the lies, disguises and hoops, they make you jump through
You were made to fill a purpose that only you could do
So there could never be a more beautiful you
There could never be a more beautiful you

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Xoxo, Anna
