October! In my devotional, October is marked with a special verse that never fails to bring me a sense of comfort. For many, October holds anticipation of crispy fall air, beautiful color change, football season, family, friends, cider and donuts, apple orchards and more. For me, October is certainly marked by all of that; it’s also marked by being synonymous with loss. About six years ago, my family was forever changed. In early October, my Dad went into the hospital and on October 20th, my Dad went to be with the Lord.

Matthew 11:28 reads, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Each year, I find this verse fitting as we enter into a month that holds so many painful memories. My Dad was struggling and God called him home to rest. My family and I miss my Dad terribly and no amount of time will ever change that. With that said, we find comfort in knowing we have a merciful God. We lean on our faith and look forward to the day that we will all be together again!

Prayers to all as we enter into this new month!

Xoxo, Anna
