A truly tragic day, the sunnies beaming at you in this photo are no longer! I am so sad to report that I lost them on Sunday, somewhere in Grand Rapids, wandering around Art Prize®. On another note, has anyone ever heard of the event?! Their website explains it far better than I ever could so I pulled this info from their About tab:
“ArtPrize® is a radically open, independently organized international art competition. For 19 days in the early fall, around 400,000 attendees descend upon three square miles of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan where anyone can find a voice in the conversation about what is art and why it matters. Art from around the world pops up in every inch of downtown in over 160 venues—museums, galleries, bars, restaurants, theaters, hotels, public parks, lobbies, buildings, walls, bridges, laundromats, and auto body shops—and it’s all free and open to the public.”
ArtPrize® Eight will take place from September 21 to October 9. If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend going. Such fun to see Grand Rapids, a city that I adore, bustling with excitement! My only piece of advice if you go: hold onto your sunnies! Hahah!
