Fall Bucket List

Fall is without a doubt my favorite season and I know that I certainly do not stand alone when I say that! Everyone seems to love Fall! As I thought about why I decided that F. Scott Fitzgerald said it best when he said, “Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the Fall.”

Finally FALL!

Welcome to the most beautiful hidden gem of a spot that I have ever discovered. A tiny little opening that leads through the woods and opens up to the far-reaching and incredibly beautiful Lake Michigan! I showed up with…

Cherish The Present

You guys! Amazing book alert! I am currently reading Present Over Perfect written by Shauna Niequist and though I am not far along, I can tell you right now that I am so incredibly grateful for the message she has so beautifully written. Perhaps you’re wondering what it means to be present over perfect. The title is powerful and I know it certainly had me wondering. In her own…

My Lighthouse

It’s no secret that I love a pretty lighthouse so perhaps the mystery lies in the why I like them so much. It wasn’t until recently that I even found out for myself! Being a Michigan girl I’ve always loved the lake but over the course of the past few years, I’ve found an incredible sense of peace there…

Whimsical By The Water

I do not have enough words to tell you how much fun I had frolicking on the beach with this kite and my two good friends. We stumbled upon the most beautiful day in Holland, Michigan (my favorite place) and took full advantage spending most all of it outside. The tassels on my dress were perfectly whimsical for the windy day and the red color was even better as this was likely my last trip the the Big Red lighthouse for the summer. This dress was…

Back 2 Blonde

Anyone who knows me knows that I am not one to use hair products that you can find at the drugstore. I love being a natural blonde and I’ve always been fearful that anything I pick up might turn my hair orange or take away from that natural color that it (for the most part) still holds! I admit that I am totally weird about my hair and for that reason I only use products selected or given to me by my hair stylist, Angie. Angie rocks and she has been cutting my hair since I first had little hairs to cut! I by no means think that my hair is too good for drug store products, it’s just that my hair knowledge is very limited and I trust my hair dresser far more than I trust myself in that department. My friends in college used to tell me that I had “virgin hair” for reference! I know that Angie will never lead me astray and therefore, I will never end up with orange or damaged hair. So anyways, that was a little background about how anal I am about my hair. It really just comes down to the fact that I prefer a more natural look and do my best to keep it that way…

Faith Over Fear

Lately more than ever before, as I stand at my happiest, I’ve found myself scared that I’ll get hurt. Seems random right?! Not to me. I guess I’ve just reached a point of being content with where I’m at and I don’t want anyone or anything to take that away from me. I’ve always said that I do not wish a broken heart on anyone, it’s just terrible! On one hand, I think experiencing heart break on a few different occasions has given me the opportunity to genuinely appreciate the times that are good. On the other hand, I think it has also left me fearful that I might end up feeling that way again. It wasn’t until I sat at church on Sunday and heard the Pastor say, “faith over fear” that I realized I had nothing to be scared of. Even in the eye of the storm, God remains in control. As we experience heart breaks in whatever form they may come in, I truly believe that…

Monday Maxi

I tend to wear my sunnies on and off and truthfully, more times than not, prefer to go without! They usually end up on top of my head and occasionally I put them on my eyes. With that said, be prepared to only be seeing sunnies for a little while! Last Thursday I woke up with what I thought were terrible allergies. When I looked in the mirror it occurred to me that I had a lot bigger problem than just some allergies! My eyes had swelled to the point of barely being able to see. I looked SO SCARY and honestly, really funny. I wish I was brave enough to share the picture because it really is worth a good laugh. As it turns out, I had pink eye in both eyes. Super unfortunate. I’m no longer contagious and I feel fine but my eyes are weirdly still a bit swollen. So anyways, if anyone is looking for an amazing pair of sunglasses (to hide pink eye or simply to just wear), click the link up top because I absolutely love the ones I am wearing from Tory Burch…
