I have definitely said this before and I will happily say it again, the best part about blogging is the people it has allowed me to make connections with. I know it’s easy to throw rocks at social media because in our day and age it certainly has it’s negatives, however, it’s important to not lose sight of…

Cozy Cardigan & Comfy Kicks

{2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.} I absolutely LOVE going for walks in the Fall. There is truly nothing better than going out of your way to step on a crispy leaf….

Celebrating the 100th Post

Romans 12:12 says, “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” I can’t think of a more fitting verse for my 100th post! As you might recall from previous posts, I’ve mentioned that I started this blog when I was a bit down, going through some tough times. I wanted an outlet, a space to write and a place to put my many thoughts. Since the beginning, this blog has surpassed all expectations. Not only has it had the opportunity to reach many, it has…

It’s hard to believe that he’s actually been gone for 5 years! It feels like it was just yesterday. For those of you….

I am currently reading Present Over Perfect written by Shauna Niequist and though I am not far along, I can tell you right now that I am so incredibly grateful for the message she has so beautifully written. My Lighthouse

It’s no secret that I love a pretty lighthouse so perhaps the mystery lies in the why I like them so much. It wasn’t until recently that I even found out for myself! Being a Michigan girl I’ve always loved the lake but over the course of the past few years, I’ve found an incredible sense of peace there…

Faith Over Fear

Lately more than ever before, as I stand at my happiest, I’ve found myself scared that I’ll get hurt. Seems random right?! Not to me. I guess I’ve just reached a point of being content with where I’m at and I don’t want anyone or anything to take that away from me. I’ve always said that I do not wish a broken heart on anyone, it’s just terrible! On one hand, I think experiencing heart break on a few different occasions has given me the opportunity to genuinely appreciate the times that are good. On the other hand, I think it has also left me fearful that I might end up feeling that way again. It wasn’t until I sat at church on Sunday and heard the Pastor say, “faith over fear” that I realized I had nothing to be scared of. Even in the eye of the storm, God remains in control. As we experience heart breaks in whatever form they may come in, I truly believe that…
