Anyone who knows me knows that I am not one to use hair products that you can find at the drugstore. I love being a natural blonde and I’ve always been fearful that anything I pick up might turn my hair orange or take away from that natural color that it (for the most part) still holds! I admit that I am totally weird about my hair and for that reason I only use products selected or given to me by my hair stylist, Angie. Angie rocks and she has been cutting my hair since I first had little hairs to cut! I by no means think that my hair is too good for drug store products, it’s just that my hair knowledge is very limited and I trust my hair dresser far more than I trust myself in that department. My friends in college used to tell me that I had “virgin hair” for reference! I know that Angie will never lead me astray and therefore, I will never end up with orange or damaged hair. Lately more than ever before, as I stand at my happiest, I’ve found myself scared that I’ll get hurt. Seems random right?! Not to me. I guess I’ve just reached a point of being content with where I’m at and I don’t want anyone or anything to take that away from me. I’ve always said that I do not wish a broken heart on anyone, it’s just terrible! On one hand, I think experiencing heart break on a few different occasions has given me the opportunity to genuinely appreciate the times that are good. On the other hand, I think it has also left me fearful that I might end up feeling that way again. It wasn’t until I sat at church on Sunday and heard the Pastor say, “faith over fear” that I realized I had nothing to be scared of. Even in the eye of the storm, God remains in control. I tend to wear my sunnies on and off and truthfully, more times than not, prefer to go without! They usually end up on top of my head and occasionally I put them on my eyes. With that said, be prepared to only be seeing sunnies for a little while! Last Thursday I woke up with what I thought were terrible allergies. When I looked in the mirror it occurred to me that I had a lot bigger problem than just some allergies! My eyes had swelled to the point of barely being able to see. I looked SO SCARY and honestly, really funny. I wish I was brave enough to share the picture because it really is worth a good laugh. As it turns out, I had pink eye in both eyes. Super unfortunate. I’m no longer contagious and I feel fine but my eyes are weirdly still a bit swollen.
