The One Where They Scaled a Glacier

Merchandise is available at East Lansing Threads; Vest: Dylan, Boots: Sorel, Necklace: Kendra Scott

East Lansing Threads is back on the blog! One of my very favorite stores located right downtown. This was such a fun collaboration to work on and I am so excited to be able to show off some pieces from the cute little boutique that sits on Grand River. The Dylan vest in the pictures above is super cute and even better… reversible! How fun is that?! I love how many things you can do with it. Dress it up, dress it down, whatever! Clearly I took the casual route, however, that really wasn’t my intention when I first spotted the silky suede beauty! I really envisioned wearing this vest with a black blouse and my over the knee boots. However, true to form, I came up with a ridiculous idea and insisted we take these pictures out in the freezing cold, on the windy pier in Holland, Michigan. Due to the amount of ice we skated on to get out there, the over the knee boots really weren’t an option if I wanted to stay on my feet! So, the impromptu casual look it is! The Sorels I am wearing are my very favorite winter boot. Super practical for a Michigan winter but also quite cute! I love that Threads has given our community the opportunity to shop locally for the brands that we all know and love. Sorel boots are currently on sale, 25% off, at East Lansing Threads so be sure to stop in and get yours. Here’s another fun one for you. Kendra Scott just recently released her new collection and it is also currently available at East Lansing Threads. I love the piece I am wearing from her new collection. It added a little jazz to my otherwise pretty grey outfit!

I really have to tell you a quick little background on all of these pictures. It was supposed to be a “warm” winter day. So, me in all of my wisdom really did think hiking out to the pier would be wise. WRONG. VERY WRONG. We actually froze. Froze to the point that it was comical. It was so cold and so windy I couldn’t even believe we attempted. My friend Serena and I laughed so hard we were crying. Not only was it cold, but it was an icy mess. It felt like we were climbing a glacier. I don’t think we’ve ever taken pictures so quickly in all of our lives. Totally worth it because all in all, it ended up being one of my all time favorite adventures. Sometimes the worst ideas turn into the best. It’s all what you make of it! A very special thank you to my friend Serena who not only put up with me but also sacrificed the well being of her fingers for these pictures hehehe! She rocks! Stay tuned for more fun features from East Lansing Threads.

Xoxo, Anna
