Windmill Island Gardens

When I first saw these pictures I truly thought it looked like I had been photo shopped in! The beauty of the windmill took my breath away. Though it felt like I was somewhere in the Netherlands, I was really just on the outskirts of downtown Holland (Michigan) at Windmill Island Gardens. The 36-acre park is home to the DeZwaan Windmill which was brought over from the Netherlands in 1964. It is the only authentic, working, Dutch windmill in the United States! Kind of cool! Not only that but because the Dutch government placed a ban on windmills leaving due to damages that many of the structures faced during World War II, it was also the last windmill to ever leave the Netherlands. The monumental structure is a beautiful symbol to pay homage to the city’s Dutch culture. If you ever get the opportunity to visit Windmill Island Gardens, I highly recommend it! It is a beautiful place that makes you feel as though you have stepped back in time! I love it!

As for my outfit, I am dressed head to toe in J.Crew! It was the perfect choice for a chilly, rainy and windy Fall day. The printed belt was fun to mix with the gingham button up! Cozy and cute, my favorite kind of Fall outfit! I’ve linked everything below, simply click to shop!

Xoxo, Anna
