Midwest Charm with Anna

Winter White

Jacket: Ann Taylor, Dress: BCBG, Boots: Sam Edelman, Necklace: J.Crew

Well into December and still no snow here in Michigan! What better way to compensate than with a winter white jacket instead! As always, this blog post comes with what I would deem “a funny story” thanks to another one of my not-so-brilliant ideas. I guess I should preface this all by saying that I couldn’t have been happier to have been back in Holland for the day. The plan was to spend the day Christmas shopping downtown with one of my good friends. Once we were together, I insisted we make a pit stop at the beach first! One of my favorite things to do in Holland is to head to the water, regardless of the time of year. It truly is a special place! Since we were headed out there, I thought it might be a fun place to take a few pictures for my blog to feature this beautiful new jacket from Ann Taylor. I was pretty jazzed about the idea because I wanted to share jacket while it is still 50% off! As we hauled our way out onto the boardwalk, it occurred to me that we might just lose a limb due to the FREEZING cold air blowing off of the water! No snow but still very cold! It was so cold it was comical. Mostly comical for reason being that I thought heading to the beach in minimal clothing in December was a good idea. We didn’t manage to get any good pictures of the jacket because it was far too cold, but we did manage to get quite a few good laughs and a pretty decent story!  Probably another one of those “had to be there” laughs, but take my word for it, it was quite funny.  I threw in one of the pictures from our failed attempt at the bottom just for a little laugh. Windy and cold about sums it up! After that fail, we did end up heading back downtown. We stopped at  one of my favorite parks in Holland and then spent the rest of the day shopping. Later that evening we went to dinner with the 3rd member of our little trio. I am so fortunate to have made such good friends in Holland.

I love the outfit I am wearing because it gives you options! You can either wear the jacket open to feature the peplum dress and the necklace, or wear the jacket closed to give it more of a two piece, skirt and jacket look to keep the emphasis on the jacket. I love a good peplum and the gold features on the white jacket are to die for, so either option with this outfit is a win/win in my opinion! My over the knee boots are fun to wear and they definitely added a little jazz to the outfit! Thanks for reading!

Xoxo, Anna
