It’s a special time of year in Holland, Michigan! The city is currently showing off nearly 5 million tulips of which line the streets and fill the parks. The idea of Tulip Time dates back as early as 1927 and has been a rich part of Holland’s city ever since (with the exception of the discontinuation during World War II). The Tulip Time Festival continues to provide entertainment for all that venture to West Michigan with events such as: concerts, meal shows, parades, Klompen Dance, Town Crier Competition, Art & Craft Fair, Trolley Tours, Kinderplaats, and of course, tulips to admire! Dutch heritage and culture run deep in Holland and continue to play a priority role in all the Tulip Time Festival has to offer. You still have time to see for yourself why Readers Digest has named The Holland Tulip Time Festival the “Best Small Town Festival in America”! The event runs through May 14 and I’m crossing my fingers that that tulips will make it until then! Otherwise, you’ll be visiting Holland for a stem festival! As of last weekend, the tulips were in bloom and beautiful, so I’m thinking all will be well in the world of tulips for this coming weekend. I am excited to be back in my favorite place for the second weekend in a row!
