“I would rather be what God chose to make me than the most glorious creature that I could think of; for to have been thought about, born in God’s thought, and then made by God, is the dearest, grandest, and most precious thing in all thinking.” -George MacDonald
In the world that we live in, comparison is an easy trap to fall into. Though I love social media, it certainly aids in comparing ourselves to others. As I tread through this blogging world, I make a conscious effort to love and appreciate myself, just the way that God made me. The thought of God creating me just the way He envisioned, really is, the most precious thing I can think of. Last Sunday, we talked about comparison at church. It was an amazing service and the message was very moving. I would love to share a bit about what I left with:
3 take aways regarding comparison:
- Comparison is the death of contentment
- Comparison makes us prideful
- Comparison makes us resentful
And how to fight it:
- Know what you have
- Know who you are
I hope everyone has a great weekend!
